Renovation checklist
A checklist for those who are starting to renovate their apartment. It will help to monitor the progress of construction and the quality of work of your team.

Preparation for repair:
- Find a crew that takes into account your budget, deadlines and the composition of the work
- Fix the terms and intermediate stages of acceptance and payment
- Sign a contract with the crew
- Prepare the apartment for repair and remove items
- Draw up a schedule of purchases and delivery of materials
- Find out the size of the elevator and all doorways
- Hang a notice about the repair in the elevator, warn the neighbors
Criteria for the quality of work:
- The wires are without defects.
- The joints between the cloths of the wallpaper are unnoticeable
- The tiles are evenly laid and the joints are uniform
- Grout is applied evenly
- The walls are painted evenly in different lighting conditions (with a lamp)
- Floor screed without breaks and cracks checked with a spirit level
- Baseboards fit tightly to the walls and floor
- Wall planes are aligned at a 90′ angle
During repairs:
- Monitor the progress of work once a week
- Check the location against the blueprints:
- Lights
- Outlets
- Water and sewer outlets
- Partitions and doorways
- Record all costs on the bill of quantities.
- Accept all work according to the list, fix the shortcomings and the deadline for their implementation
Criteria for the quality of work:
- Save leftover wallpaper, tile, and floorboards
- Sell any extra materials left over from the repair
- Order an independent expert appraisal of your apartment repairs.
- Accept improvements and only after that sign documents and pay for the work
- Make a list for purchasing furniture and decorations
